I'm Gonna Do It

Friday is Bike To Work Day. I've been wanting to do this for some time, enough so that I had my brother Jim build me the right bike for the trip. AnnaMarie and I had a date planned for Thursday anyway so she'll just meet me when I get off work Thursday morning; that way I can leave a car here for the trip home.
56 miles. I lose 4,500' in elevation, so that's about a 1.5% grade. That should give me a little boost. I have to be at work by 08:00 so I'm planning on leaving about 03:00

AH! I was wondering about the trip back up (or- how were you going to get back home).

That sounds like more of a sane-person plan.

Way-back when I rode to Idyllwild we pretty much walked up the hill. The ride down was way fun.

What route are you taking?

Tell you what Steve. I have plans to bike some this summer. So I might just take you up on that.

B---16 miles on 79 (that's the scary part) Hwy 8 is bike legal up to Willows, then there's a frontage road that will take me all the way down to Lake Jennings. Through Lakeside/Santee to Mission Gorge to Friars. I will probably walk up the steep grade from the Qualcomm Stadium up the mesa.
L---Maybe we need a male bonding bike adventure, like meet at Tioga Pass and ride (mostly downhill) to Yosemite Valley. It would be pretty central for people
