Just provide for the defense, protect resources, guard the border, promote commerce, and teach the kids to their full individual learning potential. You don't need to feed them, provide free medical care, etc at the school level.flyingvanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07115555161258682091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008362451811455573.post-42126794217853399742011-03-13T20:20:53.220-07:002011-03-13T20:20:53.220-07:00Perhaps you should just post a list of the agencie...Perhaps you should just post a list of the agencies you'd keep? I don'...That's all of them, isn't it?

I don't know how Oregon compares. Our last election left us with a pretty even split in the legislature, and a democratic governor who is looking to cut Education Service Districts (my job). ESD's provide all the stuff to schools like Speech & Language therapists, Behavior therapists, Autism specialists, nurses, etc. All those services schools can't afford full-time, so the district makes a contract with the ESD to provide services when necessary.

I'm not sure why we're a separate agency, since the same folks could work for the district directly. They just don't because there's an ESD for the county?

I'm now working in the Early Intervention part - which I guess used to be run through a medical site before it was tacked on to the ESD. I'm told "someone will pick us up" if the ESD is shut down, because the services to kids 2-5 are letting the majority going through the program go to regular school when they 'graduate' from Early Intervention - vs. extra services when they get to regular school.

Guess we'll see what happens...Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08828922734405535654noreply@blogger.com
